Moving is stressful and you don’t want to add any stress to your move by putting stuff in the moving truck that isn’t supposed to go in there. The Columbus packers and movers at All My Sons Moving & Storage have created this guide on what to pack in the moving truck, just for you!
What to Pack
You can pretty much pack all of your furniture, appliances, clothing and household items in the moving truck for your move to Columbus.
What Not to Pack
Photo Albums
These albums contain some of your most important memories and the last thing you want to happen is for these to get lost or damaged in the moving truck. If you’re moving during the summer you can also run the risk of them being damaged by the heat. To avoid any lost memories, keep these in the car with you!
Anything Flammable
To avoid fires during the moving process, our moving trucks will not carry alcohol, nail polish remover or lighter fluid. You should check all of your belongings for labels that say “keep away from open flame” and either dispose of them before moving, or keep them in your car.
Prescription Medicine
Any and all important prescription medications should be kept with you in a safe location. You don’t want to be without anything important in an emergency situation.
Perishable Foods
This seems pretty obvious, but sometimes people forget and pack any leftover food items. Packing food items can lead to messy spills and leaks and no one is going to want to clean up any messes in the back of a moving truck.
Fertilizers and Pesticides
Columbus packers and movers highly suggest keeping fertilizers and pesticides away from the moving truck. They are poisonous and if they are packed in the back of the moving truck, that can lead to accidental spills. If these things spill onto your belongings, you will have to throw them out, so do your best to keep them separate from all of your other stuff.
Important Paperwork
Keep your passports, IDs, insurance and tax info in your car. These documents are documents you really can’t afford to lose or replace.
