The words “guten tag” will once again be said in the streets of Powell on October 3rd for the upcoming Oktoberfest. The nonprofit Heart of Powell will host the city’s Oktoberfest celebration from 12 to 10 p.m. at the Village Green Park located at 47 Hall St.
According to the executive director of Heart of Powell Jaymie Kottenstette, last year’s inaugural event drew city residents, community members, and even Powell movers from all over Central Ohio and Downtown Powell.
Oktoberfest in Powell is set to feature a mix of modern and traditional food, music, and fun. Of course, there would be no Oktoberfest without the seasonal and authentic taste of German Beer, wine, and food offerings. Other alcoholic beverages will be sold at the event, but organizers want to remind attendees that this is a family-friendly event, so drink responsibly.
Powell movers are excited about the many activities that will be showcased this year. The 2nd Annual “Running of the Wieners” will start the day, with the final leg beginning later in the afternoon. The race was a huge success last year and a greater outcome is foreshadowed for this year. Other fun entertainment includes the cream puff eating and yodeling contests, Stein Hoist, the chicken dance, and much more.
Powell’s Oktoberfest is expected to continue to grow and evolve to a premiere event in Central Ohio, and all residents and local moving companies are excited to see what the growth of the event will mean for Powell. If you and your family are looking for a fun experience after your move to Powell, then Oktoberfest is the event to attend!
