According to a Twitter tweet late last night, Oregon only loses when they wear their grey pants. Well, thank goodness they did or Zeke Elliott may not have been able to reach 246 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns. Oregon’s grey pants have nothing to do with Elliott’s third straight game over 200 yards.
Columbus movers and Lebron James rejoiced as the game went in favor for Ohio locals and three-time national title winner Urban Meyer.
Although the first two minutes and 39 seconds of the game looked promising for Oregon, with Marcus Mariota advancing 75 yards and completing a touchdown pass to Keenan Lowe, the next three hours would dim the lights on the Oregon team.
When OSU QB Cardale Jones scored a rushing touchdown in Q2 that gave the Buckeyes a 21-7 lead, Oregon fans still remained hopeful; some tweeting that the last time Oregon played a Bug Ten team, they didn’t step up their game until Q3.
While making his way to the locker room for halftime, Urban Meyer told ESPN that he predicted Oregon to make a second-half charge at them; explaining how his team is performing well because “we’re tackling.” However, Oregon could not break the hold that OSU had on the line of scrimmage.
Although Oregon put up a fight during the last 9 minutes of the game, closing in on the stroke of midnight and lagging behind two touchdowns, proved a little too late for a game-changer. The game left Columbus movers, residents, and famous fans on the edge of their seats during Q4, with a final score of 42-20, a win for OSU.
